Kolkata: Information technology startup Starlite on Thursday tied up with Spanish enterprise resource planning solution firm Openbravo to cater to the small and medium enterprises market in the country.
“We have bagged three orders worth Rs 10 crore in the three months of operation. Although the three clients are from West Bengal we will start having orders from other regions soon,” said Raju Paul, general manager of the company, which is looking to earn Rs 250 crore in the next 18 months.
The company, which has its office in Kolkata only at present, will open a branch in Kerala soon. “We will also open a branch in New York to cater to offshore clients,” he said.
Starlite provides services in sectors like infrastructure management, data warehousing, business technology services, enterprise application services and IT consulting. Through the tie-up with Openbravo, Starlite will provide open source ERP solutions to small and medium scale companies in India .
“SME market in developed countries as well as emerging markets in India is underserved. This gives us an opportunity to grow faster in the SME market,” said Manel Sarasa, chief executive officer, of Openbravo. The company, specialising in web-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) and point of sale (PoS) solutions, has al ready partnered with a dozen Indian companies.
“Our target clients in the SME segment have turnover ranging from Rs 10-Rs 100 crore. We will offer them customised solutions at one tenth the price of other branded products,” said GP Samanta, chief technology officer of Starlite.
