Infrastructure growth slumps to 2.3 pct

New Delhi, October 10: : India's infrastructure sector output grew 2.3 per cent in August from a year earlier, above July's 4.3 per cent annual growth, government data showed on Friday.

Output rose an annual 9.5 per cent in August 2007, and in the 2007/08 fiscal year it rose 5.6 per cent from a year earlier. The infrastructure sector accounts for 26.68 per cent of India's industrial output.
