Forex dealers said a higher opening in the domestic equity market and strengthening of the euro against the US currency overseas also supported the Indian rupee.

The Indian rupee closed 2 paise lower at 60.13 yesterday as a sudden demand for the US currency emerged at fag-end of trade.

Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose by 88.71 points, or 0.40 per cent, to 22,412.61 in early trade today.
