When the country is reeling under unprecedented financial stress, such pacts costing huge to the economy could have waited since at present on many fronts our infrastructre is yet to improve and definitely, the amount involved would have made substantial improvement in our infra situation. It would be time for the govt to introspect and take remedial action.

"India and Russia share the objective of a stable, united, democratic and prosperous Afghanistan, free from extremism," says India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Really? Then why we are the ones shedding our blood and bankrupting our country to save Afghanistan? At the same time we have been sending American jobs to India, so that it have the cash to make cozy arm deals with Russia -- all guaranteed to infuriate Pakistan, feed their reckless arm race, and further destabilize the region. But we will not let such minor concerns get in the way to doing business with India. Nay, Congress on its return will get busy finding even easier ways for American companies to relocate to there. Indeed, now that we are broke from Afghanistan we will look into how much money we can save by sending our government call centers to India as well.
