A month after its flagship post graduate programme (PGP) made it to the top 20 in the Financial Times Global Rankings 2013 for business schools, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), has been ranked 39th globally in The Economist full-time MBA programmes ranking for 2013.
The premier institute has moved up from the 56th position last year in the top 100 B-schools list and has broken into the top 40 list for the first time.
“IIM-A is the only Indian B-school to get ranked in The Economist full-time MBA programmes ranking since the last four years. The Institute has made it to the 4th position in the Asia and Australasia 2013 regional rankings,” said a statement from the institute.
The B-school is also ranked number one on the criteria of student quality, open new career opportunities, percentage increase on pre-MBA salary, percentage in work three months after graduation and percentage who found jobs through the careers service.
University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business is ranked one while the Harvard Business School is at number six.
