Quite convincingly, the new version of i20 has worked in favor of the Korean automaker. In just 15 days of its launch, Hyundai Elite i20 has crossed over 12,000 bookings. On the very next day of its launch, i.e. 12th of August, the number of bookings shot to 4,600.

Elite i20 is a fine blend of style, luxury and features and is all charged up to give competition to its arch rival Maruti Suzuki, while Volkswagen Polo and Fiat Punto are also there.

The new Hyundai i20 features the brand's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy, which gives it a distinctive look and upmarket design. This hatchback has made its debut in India ahead of its official launch internationally. The car has taken all goodness of its sibling i10 and comes with a lot more features.

The i20 Elite feature a long hood, sculpted body sides and a dark treatment for the C-Pillar. The blacked-out C-pillar creates a smaller rear window. The front facia of the car stands out with the new hexagonal grille and a thin horizontal strip running to the headlamps. This front look of the new car reminds of the Hyundai Santa-Fe. The rear headlights looks more flamboyant as compared to the older. The back head-lights now run inwards, and the fog lights have changed positions to give a unique style statement. Side view of Elite i20 creates an image of a nicely shaped long car, with less curves and more linear lines. The softly flared wheel arches add-on to the style with the new alloy wheel design giving it a sporty appearance. With these additions, the new i20 looks splashier and trendy than ever before.

Hyundai Elite i20

The new Elite i20 offers two engine options, instead of three as was the case with the old i20. The petrol variants comes equipped with a 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT petrol engine, rated at 83bhp power and 115Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the diesel trim comes with the same 1.4-litre U2 CRDI diesel mill, churning out max power of 89bhp and 220Nm of peak torque, coupled with a 6-speed transmission box.

Inside the car, the 3 spoke steering wheel equipped in old i20 has been replaced by a comparatively simpler wheel, used in Grand i10 as well. Dual tone colour theme with black and beige shades similar to Grand
