Technology major HP on Tuesday launched its new multi-function printer -- HP Hotspot LaserJet Pro M1218nfs MFP -- with in-built wireless Internet hotspot for Rs 18,306.
"Besides print, copy, scan and fax capabilities, the printer also comes with mobile printing technologies including HP wireless direct, HP ePrint and Apple AirPrint. Now with the added Internet hotspot feature, this device can help a small business set up run a fully-functional office," HP India PPS Director Printing Nitin Hiranandani told reporters here.
“Designed specifically for SOHOs, start-ups and micro businesses with 1-9 employees, the HP Hotspot exceeds the traditional expectations for an AiO device through a host of innovative features, added Hiranandani.
The printer acts like a router (hotspot) and helps other devices connect to the Internet over a wireless local area network. It that allows seamless, full Internet connectivity for up to eight users via any access device, including notebooks, tablets and smartphones.
"At HP, we believe in constantly reinventing the printer and today's launch of HP Hotspot marks an important milestone in our innovation legacy," Hiranandani added.
According to IDC, HP has about 44 per cent share of the All-in-One printer market, which is about 1.70-1.90 lakh units a quarter in size.
