Haryana to regulate admission, fees in private technical institutes

To regulate admission process and fee structure of a technical course in a private technical institution in Haryana, the state government has notified an Act in this regard.

The Haryana Private Technical Educational Institution (Regulation of Admission and Fee) Act, 2012, has come into effect, an official spokesman said today.

The state government will now constitute a committee for the purpose. It would consist of a chairperson, who would be a retired Supreme Court or High Court judge or former Vice-Chancellor of a university or one having experience in public administration at a senior position.

The committee will regulate the admission process and the fee structure for technical courses in private institutions. “The fee structure will be binding on the private institutes for a period of three years,” the spokesperson said, adding the committee can impose a fine of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh on in case of violation of its recommendations.
