



Chandigarh: To provide ample power to the paddy crop, the Haryana government will purchase power from other states at Rs 6.80 to Rs11.00 per unit and supplyat the prevailing rates of about 25 paise/unit.
This was revealed by Haryana power minister, Randeep Singh Surjewala, while addressing a public meeting at village Sirta and Deora in district Kaithal after inaugurating the newly constructed 33 KV substations.
He said that the state government would incur an additional sum of Rs.673 crore during the current month for executing short term power purchase arrangements. In all, a massive investment of Rs. 1750 crore was being made in the state on short term power purchase to meet the requirements of electricity consumers from June to September, 2009.
