Haryana roadways employees’
Passengers who commute by bus to their workplaces had a harrowing time because of the strike. Police personnel were deployed in and around all the major bus stations across the state. The workers are pressing the state government to regularise contractual staff and stop the process of giving permits to private bus operators. A senior leader of the committee, Dalbir Kirmara said, “The strike was successful and we have told the state government to accept all our demands, or we will continue with our strike”.
However, the state government claimed that the strike was a failure as most of the workers did not took part in it, and except in Yamunanagar, no major disruption was reported from any other district in Haryana.
Last week, Hooda held a meeting with various workers’ unions. He announced to give ex-gratia relief of Rs 5 lakh on death of a contractual or daily wage employee of the Haryana Roadways.
