Cooperative Sugar Mills in Haryana have so far produced over 77,035 quintals of sugar by crushing 15.59 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the current crushing season.
There are 10 sugar mills in the cooperative sector in the state located at Panipat, Karnal, Rohtak, Sonipat, Jind, Shahabad, Meham, Kaithal, Palwal and Gohana. The expected sugar cane production this season is likely to be 471 lakh quintals and it is expected that sugar mills in the Cooperative sector would crush 349 lakh quintal of cane, official sources told here today. The price of sugarcane has been fixed as Rs 276 per quintal for early, Rs 271 per quintal for mid maturing and Rs 266 per quintal for late maturing varieties.
An official spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said here today that the highest sugarcane of 3.57 lakh quintals has been crushed by Cooperative Sugar Mill Karnal followed by Panipat Sugar Mill which has crushed 2.72 lakh quintals of sugarcane. These two sugar mills have produced 25,820 quintals and 20025 quintals of sugar respectively.
As much as 2.25 lakh quintals of sugarcane has been crushed by Cooperative Sugar Mill Rohtak and Cooperative Sugar Mills of Jind and Palwal have crushed 1.29 lakh quintals each of sugarcane respectively. He said that Cooperative Sugar Mills of Rohtak, Jind and Palwal have produced 10400, 6225 and 6615 quintals of sugar respectively. He said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill Sonipat has crushed 1.18 lakh quintals of sugarcane thus producing 4120 quintals of sugar. The Cooperative Sugar Mill Shahbad has crushed 1.21 lakh quintals, he added.
The spokesman said that Cooperative Sugar Mill Kaithal has crushed 0.76 lakh quintals and produced 1610 quintals of sugar. Similarly, Cooperative Sugar Mill Gohana has crushed 0.70 lakh quintals of sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mill Meham has crushed 0.62 lakh quintals of sugarcane he added. He said that Assandh Sugar Mill has crushed 1.88 lakh quintal of sugarcane and produced 10,200 quintals of sugar.
