Gur price ends steady in thin trade

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market continued to rule steady as prices moved in a narrow range in thin trade and settled at last levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also held steady on small buying support.

Marketmen said ample stocks position against current demand, mainly kept prices around last levels.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Gur chakku 2,700-2,750, pedi 2,900-3,000, dhayya 3,000-3,100 and shakkar 3,200-3,300.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,300-2,350, chakku 2,500-2,650 and khurpa 2,500-2550.

Muradnagar: Pedi 2550-2,600 and dhayya 2,600-2650.
