'Guns N Roses' deny 2009 tour

London: In what may be disappointing to the millions of 'Guns and Roses' fans around the world, the group's guitarist Richard Fortus has denied reports that the band is set to play a string of free concerts and embark on a mammoth two-year world tour.

Earlier it was reported that the band had planned to embark on a world tour in March this year to promote their latest release, the 'Chinese Democracy', with a series of live performances across the globe.

A US newspaper had reported quoting Fortus that the band would be performing a number of free gigs as part of the tour.

But Fortus has now issued a statement clarifying his comments, insisting his interview with 'The Telegraph.com' was taken out of context, the ‘Contactmusic’ reported.

He said, "OK, it seems that I am being misquoted once again. I never said that 'Guns and Roses' would be playing St Louis, nor did I say that we will be doing free shows or that we are starting a two-year tour in March! Selective hearing. Never said it."

The band which enjoyed cult status during the 1980's, released 'Chinese Democracy' last year with much fanfare. The album is one of the most expensive recording ever made having taken some 17 years to complete.

» not touring in '09, and new album

I was just wanting to know why G N' R isn't touring for '09. I would have thought after their release of their new album, "Chinease Democracy", they would hit the road touring to promote their new album. But, I guess they wanted to ruin all their die-hard fans lives. I hope they reconsider though, at least do something for '09, even if it's just one concert. If they do reconsider and start touring again, I hope they come to Missouri, that would be awesome.Oh, no offense to the new guys of the band, but what happened to slash and micheal. I mean, I know slash is with a different band now, and I have no idea what happened to micheal, but it's just not the same with Axl being the only original band member. (I miss the old days, man!)
