Gunday box office collections have been a good Rs 54.93 crore net in India, surprising analysts and laymen alike with its successful run.

The Priyanka Chopra-Ranveer Singh starrer Gunday, which released on Valentine's Day, opened well to good reviews from both audiences and critics alike.

Gunday's box office collections on opening day were Rs 16.12 crore followed by Rs 12.63 crore and Rs 15.18 crore on the weekend. But the figure fell on Monday-Tuesday to Rs 5.85 crore and Rs 5.15 crore respectively, with combined total for the first five days coming to Rs 54.93 crore net in India.

In this report, we take a look at Gunday box office collections worldwide over the opening weekend. Not surprisingly, a massive chunk of the total Rs 67.32 crore collections (gross) is generated from India.

“Substantial chunk of Gunday's box office collections revenue has come in from UAE-GCC, followed by US-Canada region,” said trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

There had been no revenue generation in Pakistan as authorities there have stopped issuing "no-objection certificates" for the screening of Indian films, holding up the release of new movies like Gunday

“Ironically, pirated copies of Gunday are being aired on cable across Karachi though it can't be shown legally in cinemas," said the manager of Capri cinema in Pakistan.

The expectations from Gunday have been all-time high after the first trailer was launched several weeks ago and a robust start was definitely on the cards. A section of the industry is convinced that Gunday is the next Rs 100 crore grosser. Will it hit a ton? Fingers crossed!

Gunday, starring Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra, opened in 2,800 screens across India on Friday.

In the Yash Raj Film, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of a glamorous cabaret dancer Nandita in the 1970s of Kolkata and is romanced by both Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.
