Great Grandson of Gandhiji elected to Kansas State Assembly

A great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi has been elected to a State Assembly in the United Stated during the general elections held on November 6.

Shanti Gandhi, 72, contesting as a Republican Party candidate, defeated his Democratic rival Theodore "Ted" Ensley by nine percentage point for the Kansas's 52nd Assembly District.

He is son of late Saraswati Gandhi, wife of Mahatma Gandhi's grandson the late Kanti Lal.

Gandhi, a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon retired in 2010 form Stormont-Vail Hospital at Topeka City in the Kansas State, received 6,413 votes against Ensley's 5,357 in the elections held Tuesday for the State's, according to the results declared by the Kansas Secretary of State.

He arrived in the US in 1967 as a medical graduate from University of Bombay.

If financial scams and legal corruption using state machinery are the first priorities in life, people like SONIA and RAHUL with its coterie of crooks and thugs, should be elected. If India needs to survive, get a decent life style for its citizens and make the economy -transparent and vibrant, these mafia gangs must be rooted out from bottom and good apples with moral and ethical values like ANNA HAZARE, KEJRIWAL, JAYAPRAKASH NARAYAN and others must be given a chance to govern the country for next few years. Wish people of India get the wisdom and make a difference in their lives by choosing right people to rule this lovely country.

Its is ironic that Mahatma Gandhi great grand child is serving the public in USA. He is educated,articulated and has a sense of purpose (public service). America's gain is India's loss. On the other hand we have Raoul Gandhi, great grand child of Nehru. The family has adopted Mahatma's name and are raping India all the way to Italy. India's loss is Italy's gain.
