Concerned about the high costs being borne by Indian overstayers to avail a two-month amnesty to leave the country, the Indian government has said it will bear a part of the fee for those seeking emergency travel certificates.
The Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi said that the Indian government has also exempted payment of 10 dirhams per applicant payable towards to the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF). “...The embassy will reimburse the agency handling visa and immigration procedures, 40 dirhams per applicant under the amnesty scheme towards photo, form filling, service fee, etc, which the applicant has paid,” said a statement issued by it.
