Gold prices fell 0.73 per cent to Rs 30,065 per 10 gm in futures trade today, as participants reduced their positions largely in tandem with a weak overseas trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in far- month December contracts eased by Rs 221, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 30,065 per 10 gm in business turnover of 3,621 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in October shed Rs 182, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 30,544 per 10 gm in 5,216 lots.
Analysts said a weak trend in the overseas markets on profit-booking and subdued demand at domestic spot markets, mainly weighed on gold prices at futures trade here.
Globally, gold shed 0.03 per cent to USD 1,335.80 an ounce in London today.
