Gas agency writes to CM, expresses fears of violence

A letter faxed to the CM mentions that all agencies that are seeing a huge rush in the last days are bound to face law and order situation post the connections getting blocked. “We have written to the CM expressing fears of untoward incidents if there is blockage of connections. We have demanded that talks be held with the petroleum ministry regarding the KYC issue,’’ said state president of LPG dealers association Usha Poonawalla.

Oil Companies had set November 30 as deadline for submitting KYC forms for those having incomplete address and more than one gas connection. On Thursday, most gas agencies were packed with people rushing to beat the deadline. ‘My agency saw huge queues that spilled over to the roads,’’ said Poonawalla.
