BJP President Nitin Gadkari today congratulated Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the record investment in his state during the recent "Vibrant Gujarat" programme.

Gadkari also lauded Modi for making the state a role model of development for the country.

"Nitin Gadkari has hailed the 'Vibrant Gujarat' conclave as a phenomenal achievement and congratulated Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his wonderful performance in scaling new heights in economic growth and successfully attracting record investment to the state," BJP said in a statement.

Gadkari sent a congratulatory letter to Modi after the state reportedly attracted a record Rs 20.83 lakh crore investment during the 'Vibrant Gujarat' programme.

In his letter, Gadkari said the party takes pride in the fact that one of the states under its rule has become a role model of development for the entire country.

"The success of the Gujarat government in attracting record investment is a testimony to the confidence that the investor community has repeatedly reposed in the government of Gujarat under Modi's leadership," Gadkari said.

He also praised the state for achieving "a perfect balance" in rural and urban development which has made lives more livable and added to the investment-attractiveness of the state.

"We have stressed the need for setting examples in good governance in states where we are in power. Vibrant Gujarat, we believe, is one such illustrious success that will encourage other governments and inspire our party rank and file," Gadkari said.

I wonder if all states go for the much hyped "gujarat model of growth" we Indian will end up eating industrial waste or even products ( of every description) , we will find all the "natural sources of water" disappearing, either by reason of giving way to Industrial/ commercial structures or polluted by industrial waste, no trees to provide us oxygen ( which i understand is required for life to survive) i guess i can go on and on ..
