FOXCONN NANOPC: Small yet powerful

Nano PC as the name suggests is an extremely compact PC having dimensions of 190 x 135 x 38 mm. Though it is not the smallest PC in market—that credit goes to Zotac’s ZBOX Nano with dimensions of 127 x 127 x 45 mm—it is still 40% smaller than a standard PC. This compactness is achieved by using a ‘credit card’ sized motherboard and SO-DIMM. The other ‘wow’ feature of the Nano PC is absence of any moving parts. There is no CPU cooling fan, but rather a passive cooling mechanism is used to dissipate the heat generated by CPU. An SSD is used instead of a standard hard disk drive.
You can connect a USB keyboard and mouse to it. For the monitor, there’s the standard VGA D-Sub connector as well as a HDMI port to connect a TV to it. We installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit operating system (OS) to test it. Post the OS installation, we used USB drive that was bundled with it to install the drivers.
