Four persons were arrested on Wednesday for the murder of a man during a marriage party, police said. Ravinder Gujjar was murdered on Friday night following an altercation with a group of six men, four of whom have been arrested.
“The accused are identified as Parikshit Saini, Kavindra Kataria, Manish Kataria, and Nishant Sharma alias Nishu. We are trying to arrest two others,” Surendra Pal Singh, DCP (West), said.
Police also recovered swords and rods from their possession.
According to police, last Friday, Ravinder and his friends had gotten into two separate scuffles, one of which ended in the murder.
“During the wedding ceremony, Ravinder and his friends had an altercation with a group of men over a song being played by the DJ. However, those gathered at the function intervened and pacified the youngsters,” a police officer said.
“Later, Ravinder was urinating by the roadside when another youth, Naveen alias Happy, the younger brother of Parikshit Saini, checked him. This led to a verbal duel. Happy left the spot and came back with Parikshit and his friends, carrying swords and rods. They then murdered Ravinder,” the officer said.
All four accused were produced in a Gurgaon court and remanded in police custody for two days.
