: Standard Chartered Bank has launched a specially designed women only international credit card, Diva, which offers many first time features and personalised services that take care of the cardholders’ daily and routine household chores. The bank is not the first, though. The Citibank launched its women only credit card, Women Visa, in India way back in 2000.
Being a recent entrant, Diva scores over Women Visa in many respects. The minimum annual income for eligibility is lower in Diva (Rs 60,000) than Women Visa (Rs 96,000). The annual fee is also slightly lower at Rs 700 in Diva aganist Rs 750 in Women Visa.
While the interest rate on credit on both the credit cards is the same at 2.95 per cent, Diva offers a longer credit period of 52 days against Women Visa’s 48 days.
Diva cardholders are also entitled to discounts and zero per cent interest rates on credit purchase of renowned brands across a wide array of categories such as jewellery, cosmetics, apparel, consumer durables, leather products, mobile phones, baby products, travel, airlines and healthcare.
Besides, Diva also offers free and comprehensive insurance packages for the card member and her family as well. “This is the first such credit card, which is offering an insurance cover against women-specific diseases,” says Shyam Srinivasan, general manager (marketing and personal loans), Standard Chartered Bank.
Diva offers a free insurance cover of Rs 75,000 for the primary card holder against women related diseases and Rs 25,000 for the supplementary card holder. In contrast, Women Visa doesn’t offer any insurance cover against women-related diseases or children’s education allowance. However, it offers a general accident insurance protection of Rs 5 lakh.
Last but not the least, Diva comes with an interesting value addition. It offers personalised add-on services, which include delivery of goods at doorstep. For this, Standard Chartered Bank has tied up with Les Concierges, a personal and business services delivery company.
“By joining Diva, a cardholder automatically becomes a member of the Les Concierges club,” explains Mr Srinivasan. “The cardholder can then conveniently access any of the personalised services by calling up the nearest Les Concierges office, which has offices in eight cities in the country, and the services will be delivered at...
