Mumbai, Jun 26: Sundara Rajan, Indian Bank, emphasised that the banking sector’s big movement forward was in the rural sector.

In his speech, Chidambaram complimented the banking fraternity for carrying out the mega farm loan waiver programme of the UPA government in record time. He extolled the banks in general for the diligence with which they had processed the loan waivers. Banks in general have performed well, he said, adding that the net profit and net advances of banks have increased while non-performing assets have declined over time....

RESPECTED SIR,THOUGH I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE IN FINANCE CAN I SUJJEST TO INCREASE THE POSTAL INTEREST RATES BY 0.5% TO 1% and re-introduce the old 10% bonus on and from 01-08-2008 and i think it can arrest the inflashionary trend without affecting the possible investments in the industry of construction sectors. comparison can be made from earlier total postal deposits with that of today's postal deposits.i may be wrong and may kindly be excused for this write-upwith regardsH.K.Sen Gupta,171, manick danga road,p.o.-ghola bazar,kolkata - 700 111ph. no. - 033-2565 6947, 94330 50190
