Fear of withdrawals keeps popular courses open
SRCC opened Economics (H) admissions for general category in the fourth list by reducing cut-offs by .25 per cent to 96.25-97.25.
After ten withdrawals, the college is left with 64 students for the course against a sanctioned strength of 62, said admissions convenor Rajeev Kumar.
“The next few days might see 9-10 more withdrawals. Having lowered the cut-off by .25 per cent in the fourth list, we expect more than 25 admissions in this round,” said Kumar.
With SRCC keeping admissions open for Economics (H) in the fourth list, Hindu College is now bracing for withdrawals and have decided to keep Economics Honours open as well. The college has announced a cut-off of 94.25 - 97.75 for the course in general category.
“We expect a few withdrawals and have lowered cut-offs accordingly. Since SRCC has kept admissions open, there will be horizontal withdrawals, both from Hindu and to Hindu from other colleges,” said Dr Pradyumn Kumar, acting Principal of Hindu College.
At Ramjas, Economics ( 92.75-95.75) and BCom Honours (95.5 - 97.5) are still open. At Miranda House, Economics Honours will be open with a cut-off of 95- 96.25.
