Expressing disappointment with the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party's decision to abstain from voting on the issue of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail in the Lok Sabha, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, on Thursday said that the Congress-led UPA is a lame-duck government dependent on costly support.

"When you are 18 short of majority, then you cannot run the government as you please. You cannot touch the 272 mark in Lok Sabha – you will need support and help. And whenever you need help, you have to compromise and pay a price," said Jaitley, while taking potshots at the government over its win on FDI vote in the Lok Sabha.

"The country is worried that with regards to investigative agencies and the government's work practices, we have seen the compromises for the past four years. After yesterday''s vote, those worries have gone up. After that figure you are a lame duck government, and you are dependent on support which is costly," he added.

Taking on Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party for deviating from its stand on the FDI issue, Jaitley said: "Some people support you from the outside. They vote for you but are opposed to FDI."

Arun Jaitely may not like to be recalled a similar language ( at the behest of Bombay club)was used by them when Maruti was launched. As regards to getting SP and BSP bail out the UPA govt repeatedly let him recall that how Kesar Nath Tripati as Speaker in U.P. split BSP by repeatedly encouraging defections when BJP had a hidden relationship with Mulayam. Also why Jaitely is silent about Geo Global and Jubilant Enpro Private Limited loot approved ny Modi in Gujrat ( is Jaitely silent because he has never won any direct election where Aaam Aasmi is the voter and is in RS representing Gujrat courtesy Modi) and rather Modi has brought silence of Legislature and Judiciary by alloting plots in Gandhi Nagar at an unbelivable price. Sure Jaitely will explain to the Nation about identity and financial strength of Geo global and Jubiliant when they were entrusted with the assignment.

BJP - A Party for Commission Agents

Some body needs to tell Arun Jaitaly that politics is much more than lengthy arguments, a normal trait of fat cat lawyers. Mayavati, by a single statement of support, has shredded all the carefully build, though some were quite incorrect, arguments of Jaitaly on FDI in retail. Don't think BJP gained any plus point from the debate in both houses, in turn, UPA got enough time to put its point across. In the whole process, BJP got an interesting tag "a party of & for commission agents"
