Fake job racket busted in Delhi; 64 Andaman youth rescued

At least 62 youth, including 22 girls of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, were rescued from the clutches of a fake company in New Delhi where they went for jobs, officials said.

On receiving information, Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh ordered the resident commissioner in New Delhi to rescue them and arrange for their transportation back to the islands, sources said.

The youth were rescued with the help of local police on Wednesday. The girls were put up in Andaman Bhavan and the authorities arranged a hotel for the boys, officials said.

They gave Rs 40,000 each to the fake company based in Indirapuram with the promise of jobs and the police arrested Animesh Chowdhuary and Farhana Firdous for cheating them, sources said.
