Eve-teasers not to get driving licence, passport in MP

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said those indulging in eve-teasing will not get driving licence, passport and other government facilities.

The step is being taken to control eve-teasing in the state, Chouhan said during a function at the Gwalior trade fair last evening.

Those found involved in eve-teasing would not be given driving licence, passport and character certificate, he said.

A database of eve-teasers and those indulging in similar offences would be prepared and appropriate action would be taken against them, he said.

A toll-free telephone number for registering complaints about eve-teasing and misbehaviour would also become operational soon, the chief minister said.

Not very practical

In my opinion, banning for driving license and passport is not correct steps as it can rise in false cases as well. But Creating a database of Eve teaser and having record of them. And govt can look, how many person has more than 2 cases.. Then They can be barred from appearing for govt services, regular college and loans etc. Make them to work for community services like cleaning of roads and public toilets etc.

This will also give rise to false complaints by girls or even boys who will use girls to file a complaint against someone to take revenge. I hope there will be a mechanism in place to ascertain that the eve teasing actually happened. It should not be the case where just because few people said a person is banned for life. May truth prevail.

does this mean only a section of the culprits/accused in judicial system will not get passport or driving license? What about those accused of murder,human trafficking, civil case accused of land grabs etc and other culprits of financial offense such as money laundering, back money trafficking, tax evasion, bribery, scam etc.
