Escorts, Dhaka cos in pact

The Escorts Group has signed an agreement with Bangladesh's Nitol-Niloy Group to supply 1,000 tractors per annum there. Under the agreement, the latter will import completely knocked down kits from Escorts and assemble it at their Kishoregonj facility in the outskirts of Dhaka. Escort officials confirmed that the first lot of shipments has commenced.

"We are planning a to set up a $10 million plant for assembly of tractors in Kishoregonj” Abdul Matlub Ahmad, chairman of the Nitol-Niloy Group, said.
