Infosys will implement the corporate affairs ministry’s e-governance initiative from Thursday. The ministry on Wednesday announced the change-over of the project implementation to the Bangalore-headquartered firm from the previous vendor TCS.

In November 2012, Infosys had won the five-year contract from the ministry to provide services, application support and infrastructure operations in a deal valued at around $50 million. According to reports, the second phase of the initiative called MCA-21, from January 2013 to July 2021, has a total project outlay of R357.81 crore. The e-governance project will provide electronic filing of documents, registration of companies and public access to online corporate information through a secure interactive portal. The MCA-21 contract is one of the latest deals bagged by Infosys in the domestic government market.
