



Mumbai: Diversified education solutions provider Educomp and Pearson, which offers education services, have entered into a joint venture to launch a vocational and skill-set training programme, IndiaCan. IndiaCan is planning to set up a national network of more than 600 vocational training centres focusing on jobs across segments such as finance, retail, IT and insurance. The centres will come up in tier II and III cities.
The aim is not only to improve skills but also to upgrade capability of trainers and assessors, topped with qualifications from Edexcel, one of UK’s prime examination boards that offers a variety of qualifications. In this case, the qualification is based on the BTEC vocational framework. IndiaCan will train 2,000 TranSmart employees over three years to international standards and certification benchmark. Sharad Talwar, CEO IndiaCan, said, “Educomp and Pearson will provide training and certification at par with the best across the globe.”
