However, other edible and non-edible oils continued to move in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders attributed rise in select edible oil prices to a firming trend in the global markets on Chinese demand outlook and increased demand from millers.

Meanwhile, palm oil for February delivery climbed as much as 1.5 per cent to 2,405 ringgit (USD 790) a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.

In the national capital, crude palm oil (ex-kandla) and palmolein (RBD) strengthened by Rs 50 each to Rs 7,100 and Rs 7,200 per quintal, while soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) gained Rs 40 at Rs 7,090 per quintal.
