With Jet Airways and Etihad Airways inching closer to finalising a deal that will see the Abu Dhabi-based airline buy into Naresh Goyal’s one, an aviation ministry official last week likened the boardroom negotiations to a fruit market. “The broad contours of the deal have been finalised, but the two parties are negotiating over the valuation of the share price of Jet Airways. They are bargaining like buyer and sellers at the fruit markets in Delhi,” the official said.
