Geo's management said it would not succumb to "vested interests of some interested quarters in Pakistan". It requested the Dubai authorities not to stop the transmissions and let the network "know how and when it had violated the rules and regulations of Dubai in its telecasts".

Reporters Without Borders too has called on the governments of Pakistan and the UAE to explain why Geo News was under threat of losing its licence to operate in Dubai.
