* Homes for elderly to be increased

* No additional houses to be constructed in Manimajra

COMMERCIAL

* More parking spaces to be provided

* Concept of SCOs/SCFs to be dispensed with; planning be undertaken for entire shopping centre on pattern of shopping malls

* Proposal for urban renewal and streetscaping for each market to be made

* Review of architectural controls to address modern day demands and preserving heritage

* Barrier free environment for differently abled to be provided

* Markets to be equipped with fire safety norms

n Proposal to be prepared for cleaning up facades

n Better connectivity to commercial areas to be ensured

Review of advertisement control order recommended

n Holistic development of Sector 17 as per the original plan to be done

n City centre to be made part of Chandigarh Heritage Circuit and integrated into green corridor

n Government offices that operate from ground floor in Sector 17 to be weeded out

11 storey building in Sector 17 to be constructed

n Sub city centre in Sector 34 to be redesigned

n A consular complex to be built here to cater to people that come from various countries

n Nehru Centre for Performing Arts to be constructed

n Commercial belt to be developed on both sides of Vikas Marg

n Area in front of shops in neighbourhood markets to be made vehicle free

n Apni mandis to be better managed

INDUSTRIAL

n Augmentation of infrastructure owing to changing needs with Industrial Area also becoming a commercial hub

n Proposals for streamlining connectivity and accessibility by removing bottlenecks, segregating service and public movement and parking areas, augmenting the road network to be worked out.

n Safe mobility for pedestrians and cyclists by providing dedicated lanes/tracks
