SummaryThe post has stirred up a storm as it ran quite contrary to Stalinís father and DMK chief M Karunanidhiís practice of not greeting people on Hindu festivals.

The DMK on Sunday said comments greeting people on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi on party treasurer M K Stalinís social networking page were put up without seeking his permission.

ďThere is a comment in his social networking portal extending greetings to people on Vinayaka Chaturthi. The people who handle his portal have commented out of enthusiasm. It has been made without seeking the consent of M K Stalin,Ē the party said in a statement.

Vinayaka Chaturthi was celebrated on August 29 and a comment on Stalinís official Facebook page says ďGreetings to all on the occasion of Vinayaka ChaturthiĒ.
