Dhania, kalaunji prices rise on tight supply

Dhania and kalaunji prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid inadequate stocks following fall in supplies.

Dhania and kalaunji prices shot up by Rs 200 each to settle at Rs 7,200-9,200 and Rs 7,400-8,400 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up dhania and kalaunji prices in the wholesale kirana market here.

The following are today's quotations: Ajwain 10,000-15,000, black pepper (per kg) 425-560, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg)

800-900 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 950-1,050. Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 760-900, cardamom (colour robin) 750-890, cardamom bold 750-850, cardamom extra (bold) 950-1,080 and cloves (kg) 620-700.
