Dena Bank Q2 profit up 24 pct at Rs 239.64 cr

Dena Bank today posted 24 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 239.64 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012.

The state-owned bank had a net profit of Rs 193.58 crore in the July-September period of the previous fiscal.

The total income of the lender during the quarter rose to Rs 1,890.73 crore from Rs 1,395.18 crore in the same period last year, Dena Bank said in a filing to the BSE.

During the first half of 2012-13, the net profit of the bank rose by 32.4 per cent to Rs 478.27 crore from Rs 361.67 crore in the April-September period of the previous fiscal, it said.

The bank's total income during the six month period rose to Rs 3,711.66 crore from Rs 2,739.97 crore in the same period last fiscal.

Gross NPAs rose to 1.97 per cent of loan assets as on September 30, 2012 as compared to 1.93 per cent at the end of second quarter of the previous fiscal.
