A Delhi Police officer was asked to arrest a gang of pickpockets. The officer took the order seriously and worked hard on the case. He followed the pickpockets in plain clothes to understand how the gang operates and tried to learn their vocabulary. The officer noted down around 200 phrases .

Smile please

A senior Army officer made guards at the Police Headquarters smile. Last week, a Lt-Gen rank officer arrived at the PHQ in his official vehicle. He was saluted by the guards when stepped out of the vehicle. The Army officer shook hands with four guards and asked them how they were doing. The guards were heard saying that it was the first time a senior officer had bothered to ask how they were doing.

Tents on lease

The Delhi Development Authority is planning to erect tents in each of the Capital’s nine districts to resolve issues related to the “tent mafia”. These people lease out their tents for marriages and other functions at exorbitant prices. “We have made the process of booking community halls, parks, etc. available online but more efforts are needed to end the tent mafia’s harassment. We are looking to set up tents in all districts and have asked officials to look into the feasibility of this plan,” a DDA official said.

The North civic agency’s Education Committee chairperson Rekha Gupta got a taste of red tape. Demanding an explanation about the ban on recruitment of teachers, she reminded an Additional Director of an order passed by the House
