Bal Thackery should have been Hanged

Shahrukh | 14-Dec-2012Reply | Forward
Bal Thackery led people from other relogions to speak against Hindus and he was involved in killing of countless Christians, Muslims, Sikhs and Parsis. I am sure for the killing of Muslims he would have made a record

Right to speech vs misuse right to speech

Monta | 26-Nov-2012Reply | Forward
The issue is not about freedom of speech. Everyone has the RIGHT to freedom of speech but it is NOT RIGHT to abuse freedom of speech by being disrespectful, abusive or hurting sentiments of people. So the real issue is abusing freedom of speech. Shaheen said "respect is earned not forced"; here she is invalidating the tears, respect and sadness of lakhs of people seen on the streets of Mumbai & funeral. She also said people went bonkers, meaning people were crazy. So according to her, all the masses in Mumbai gathered to pay respect and grieving were crazy. She said people were forced to shut down. Did she do research and ask each shop owner in Mumbai were you forced to close your shop? Was there any basis for making remarks like people are crazy, they were forced to shut down etc. If someone passed the comment on your dead father or grandfather, that thousands like him die everyday, people grieving are crazy, would you like this comment? One cannot misuse one's right to speak to hurt.

Great support by shown the media. However, it would have been good to know what saheens dhadas status message was after the august 11 Azad maidan Riots. That would have been a test of her commitment to free speech or her bias against this leader
