Kolkata, July 9: : The Damodar Valley Corp (DVC) on Wednesday reported over 40 per cent growth in operating profit (before tax provisions and write-offs) in 2002-03 fiscal compared to the previous fiscal based on unaudited results.
However, owing to higher income tax pay-off and write-off of consumer dues, its net profit increased marginally to Rs 196 crore from previous fiscal’s Rs 192 crore.
The power generating company paid Rs 120 crore income tax as against Rs 86 crore in 2001-02.
