: finish the stitching, considerably longer than a normal quilt top requires. Often, Taylor had to count the squares, as in cross-stitch embroidery, to determine exactly where she was stitching at the moment. Locke’s goal is to show ‘The Supper’ in all 50 states. He and his wife often take it to quilt guild meetings and churches for display. They’ve also travelled internationally with the quilt. This month, they will show it in Long Beach, California, at the summer exhibition of International Quilt Festival.

Wherever they go, the Lockes are happy to share ‘The Supper’ with others. If some of their viewers actually refer to the experience as a spiritual one, the couple won’t be surprised.
