Kolkata: The Calcutta Stock Exchange today slid heavily during the day.

The benchmark index, CSE-40, slumped 1,128.86 points during the day. The local bourse had lost 83.10 points in the previous trading session.

The index opened at 7,007.97 and during the day the local bourse dipped to a low of 5,783.68 but later improved marginally to close at 5879.11.

The business volume was at Rs 6.27 crore from trading of 25 scrips.

Amluckie Investment was Rs 294.10. Blueprint Securities was at Rs 303.75, Bolton Properties was at Rs 390.60. Howrah Mills Co was at Rs 27.

OMDC gained to close at Rs 23700 a share. ONGC was Rs 1159.95. Reliance Industries was higher at Rs 1956.95. SBI finished the day at Rs 2220.

Twenty First Century was at Rs 290.15 and Vindus Holding was at Rs 293 at the end of the session.
