Kannur(Ker): CPI-M's Lok Sabha member from Kannur, A P Abdullakutty, was today suspended from the party after he praised Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's development model.

The action was taken by the party's Mayyil area committee in Kannur district, to which Abdullakutty is a member, after the two-term MP stood by his statement, party sources said.

The party had earlier sought explanation from Abdullakutty for the statement he made while on a trip to Dubai praising the saffron leader's efforts in the development of Gujarat.

Risking disciplinary action, Abdullakutty, in his reply to the party, yesterday said that he stood by his remarks. He, however, said he rejected outright the ‘anti-minority’ stance of Modi.

In a statement released shortly after sending his reply to the area committee yesterday, Abdullakutty said he made the comment with the good intention of triggering a debate on development in the state which often suffered from such modes of protests like hartals.

Reacting to the development, Abdullakutty said he did not expect action against him.

The CPI(M) leaders had earlier said the party did not agree with any policy of Modi, including those relating to development which were at variance with the party's perception.

The true Indian u can call him the true politician and a call him true role model to all youth of India. Being an Indian am saying this from my heart.Do you need to know why I am saying this …. Just here some of his speeches and interviews to some of regional the channels. You will never say in which party he is. He is the actual politician and each politician should follow him.And one thing he never say Mody is a good person but he told abt his development and also he sad abt Shila deekshit and also Nitheesh Kuma and many like that in. Do you know why did he say like that being a Communist? Humm no one will enquire that! That’s for sure … In a conference in Dubai some of the MPs of our country went there to convince NRIs to Invest in India for development, at that time some of the Kerala NRIs asked abt kerals situation; manly abt 83 days bund in keral in one year and they asked we need to invest in that kind of place? All MPs kept quit, they didn’t get any answer for that but Abdullakutty didn’t control his emotion so long he exploded with that speech which ends up with suspension. humm I wod say Bad party….. Bur grate Man.. I love him after hearing his some of the speeches I wrote his name in my heart as roll model. Be an AbdullaKutty

The Maarxists( cannibals of Nandigram) have made West Bengal a dying state of India (Courtesy Late Rajiv Gandhi who called KolKotta a dying City) and Kerala, a crumbling state. No industries, no shelter, no food in these states. Only Maarxist and Congress politicians can stay in this states. Poor have no place. Poor people from these two states are migrating to other states in India in search of food and shelter. And still this people want Maarxists to rule them. What a pity? Maarxists have completely brain washed them with decaying and good for nothing ideology. This people have no right to talk about Modi who has done a great job in Gujarath. Maarxists are getting away by making false promises and talking about pseudo-secularism and pseudo-socialism. Abdullakutty is a progressive man and known for down to earth thinking. These Maarxists are residing in there own imaginary world. Their mind is in CHINA and body is in India. No respect for democracy like chinis.

If the Marxist bufoons had underplayed the whole issue, it would not have given so much publicity to Modi. But unfortunately they have to play to the minority galleries. The very people who sang praises of Saddam Hussain is calling Modi a killer.Their followers are not encouraged to open their mind but spew only ready made answers.Being in denial mode is a new technic they have picked up from pakistan. They now deny that Modi has brought about any development in Gujarat.

Sometimes it is quite an irony to note that being educated does not mean that people are intelligent. Those who come out of the rut who think differently have no scope for these bold statements in CPI(M). If you have to grow, you need to be positive and I completely appreciate A P Abdullakutty for being so very outspoken. If someone has done good and if you feel that could be considered to be applied, what is wrong?

it is not surprising. An intelligent and unbiased analyst has no place in CPI(M). What they want is dogs, who will wag their tails to CPI(M) and bark at everybody else.

Communism is all about standing for the right and what Abdullakkutty done is absolutely what a true communist should and would do.. He was bold enough to say the truth. I am a communist myself. I do believe that the current leaders are fooling its true beleivers to massage their wested interests. Even China and Russia understood the importance of opportunities and hard work. Our Kearala leaders made its people to go on street against computer and we all know the part computer played in helpig getting jobs for Indian younger generation and hence India's economy. Politiocians in Karnataka and Andra understood this and we can see the difference they have made for their people.. "Harthal" is the CURSE of Kerala. When will these leaders grow like Abdullakkuty instead of sidelining him for saying the truth and work for the benefits of Kerala people. They ruined the party values by group party politics. "Sakhavu Abdullakkuttee..... you are the true communist".

indian political parties r all full of selfish people. they never see the good done to the nation by any opposite political patrty. all the political parties must acknowledge the good work done by any leader even if he is in opposition. we r all first indian and then there may be difference of opinion but we shouldnot see only with a selfish view. mr. abdullahkutty has paid for his honest views. but i donot feel sorry because such honest presentation of views will be appreciated by the mass people.

Hi, This is true Communism. Kerala Communists have never fought for the welfare of the Keralites. Since 1957, when the first communist government of EM came to power, the policies inititiated by them have worked for the ill-being of the common public. They have never allowed any industry to come up in Kerala. Truely, the Kerala Communists wanted to live in the problem ridden life of the public. When even Bengal communists can change their attitude towards industrialisation, why these people cannot change? Does the egoism of Keralites allow for any change in the industrial climate? God's own country.
