Corporation Bank Q2 net profit at Rs 405.71 cr

Corporation Bank today reported marginal increase in its net profit at Rs 405.71 crore for the second quarter ended September 2012, as compared to Rs 401.11 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The total income of the bank was at Rs 4,070.45 crore during July-September period of 2012-13, from Rs 3,480.12 crore over the corresponding period a year earlier, it said in a filing to the BSE.

Its income from retail banking increased to Rs 876.24 crore from Rs 737.58 crore while income from wholesale banking rose to Rs 2,192.89 crore from Rs 1,696.26 crore a year ago.

The non-performing assets of the Mangalore-based bank rose to 1.38 per cent during the second quarter, up from 0.91 per cent in the year-ago period.

Shares of Corporation Bank were trading at Rs 403.80 apiece on the BSE, down 0.09 per cent from the previous close.
