Cop act
Ronit Roy plays a cop in Shootout At Wadala, Ugly and Boss
Television actor Ronit Roy who made his mark in Bollywood with recent films like Udaan and Student Of The Year, has four releases this year—Midnight’s Children, Shootout At Wadala, Ugly and Boss. Interestingly, while he plays a father, Ahmed Sinai in Deepa Mehta’s book adaptation that releases on February 1, the actor plays a cop in his next three releases.
Roy says, “I play a cop in Shootout At Wadala, Ugly and Boss but all the three characters are totally different from each other because the directors have very different sensibilities.” While the actor plays a very serious cop, ACP Karan Kapoor in Sanjay Gupta’s action-drama, Shootout At Wadala based on the encounter of gangster Manya Surve, Roy will be seen as a totally dark character in Anthony D’Souza’s Boss. “It is a full-blown masala film where I play the main villain who is a very ruthless cop. I have action sequences with Akshay (Kumar) in the beginning and the climax of the film. Since I am the villain, I have to look extremely powerful and as a result, I have gone through intense training for the film. Meanwhile, Ugly will see me in a totally different avatar because it is a thriller with Anurag Kashyap at the helm of affairs,” he informs.
While Shootout At Wadala is ready for release on May 1, Roy has finished shooting for Kashyap’s Ugly barring a day of patchwork. He is alsogearing up for
