Congress to kickstart its FDI campaign on December 30
Congress workers and people in general from Mathura and nearby western districts will participate in the rally.
In a circular sent by AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi, UPCC president Nirmal Khatri was asked to hold a rally in favour of FDI in the state and organise a delegates’ conference of all members of the party, including frontier organisations, before the end of December. The delegates’ conference will be held in Lucknow on December 26.
The rally will aim at mobilising the general public and create awareness about the benefits of the FDI in retail sector for the farmers as well as for the public, said a senior party leader. The rally will also clear the air regarding various misconceptions about FDI, being created by other political parties, he said.
The party will also raise the problems of cane farmers and purchase of rice as well as other local issues in the rally.
Preparing for the rally, state president Khatri has already instructed the zonal presidents and vice-presidents to bring party workers from their respective districts.
