Nearly two dozen Congress leaders, including former MLA Adarsh Sood and party general secretary Sanjeev Kuthiala have welcomed the AICC decision to stay the expulsions of party leaders ordered by PCC president Virbhadra Singh.

In a joint statement, the leaders have hailed AICC general secretary Birender Singh for having acted promptly on the representations of the expelled Congress leaders.

“All elected members of the DCC (urban)have raised their voice against the expulsions ordered by the PCC president at the behest of a coterie of self-styled leaders. All these leaders had misled the PCC and got some of the dedicated partymen expelled without following any procedure and constitution,” said DCC (urban) president Pradeep Singh, who was among those expelled.
