PGI nephrologist awarded for research work

Dr Manish Rathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Nephrology at PGIMER has been honoured with the ‘Best paper award’ during the Asia Pacific League of Associations Against Rheumatology (APLAR) conference in Bali, Indonesia.

The research on ‘Histological Classification of ANCA associated glomerulonephritis and its impact on outcome’ was awarded with a certificate of along with a prize of USD 1,000. Also, Rathi has been awarded membership of the prestigious ‘National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS)’.

Blood donation camp on October 2

The Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, PU, will organise a blood donation camp at Gandhi Bhawan on October 2 to mark Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birthday.

The camp, organised in collaboration with the Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Centre, Chandigarh, will be inaugurated by R L Kapoor, Advisor and Secretary to the PU Vice-Chancellor Chandigarh. Students have been asked to contact Dr Manish Sharma for registration.

Lecture on mushroom cultivation at MCM

The Botany Department of MCM College, Sector 36, organised a lecture on mushroom cultivation on Wednesday. Amanpreet Kaur, Horticulture Development Officer, Department of Horticulture, Mohali delivered the lecture and highlighted techniques of mushroom cultivation.

The lecture informed students about various aspects of cultivating mushrooms like the procedures of cultivation, types of mushrooms and compost-making methods.
