Cigarette maker Godfrey Phillips India Ltd today reported an increase of 17.87 per cent in its standalone net profit at Rs 38.25 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013.

The company had posted a standalone profit of Rs 32.45 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, Godfrey Phillips India said in filing to BSE.

Company's net sales increased to Rs 603.49 crore in the July-September 2013 quarter compared to Rs 465.43 crore in the same period a year ago.

For the first half (H1) of 2013-14 fiscal, Godfrey Phillips profit increased to Rs 61.60 crore as against Rs 60.48 crore in the year-ago period.

Godfrey Phillips India's total income from operations in first half period (April-September) increased to Rs 1,218.46 crore as against Rs 949.26 crore in the same period last year.
