Patna: LJP president Ramvilas Paswan has demanded the resignation of Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan for his statement that jobs in the state should not be allowed to be taken away by Biharis and that locals should be given preference.
“The statement made by Chouhan is unfortunate... a person holding a top constitutional post should not not react in this manner... he should resign immediately,” Paswan said.
“These type of statements from a chief minister leave a bitter taste and are against the constitutional mandate”, the LJP chief said, adding that nobody could approve of such sentiments.
He sought a clarification from the top BJP leadership with regard to the MP chief minister’s statement.
“It is also most surprising that such repeated anti-Bihari utterances come from the BJP and its allies like the Shiv Sena or Raj Thackeray of MNS,” Paswan said.
